Given the reality that the current environment our nation faces as we work to contain the spread of COVID-19 is likely to continue through spring, and with restrictions on large gatherings in Washington, D.C. presently in effect until July, SAME has made the decision not to hold the 2020 JETC from May 27-29 as originally planned. We feel this decision is necessary now to allow for our attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and vendors to plan and adjust accordingly. Plans are underway to deliver the elements that participants value in both different and new ways and at other times. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
The work that SAME members, partners, and stakeholders do is vital to national security, and building relationships and trust through their interactions in the Society has been a critical part of how they do it for 100 years. While right now the focus must be on containing the spread of coronavirus, we look forward to being able to come back together when the time is right, celebrate our Centennial with those who have built SAME's legacy of service, and kick off our second century of impact to our nation, and our profession.
Join Us for the 2020 JETC in Washington, DC!
The 2020 Joint Engineer Training Conference & Expo is headed to Washington, DC May 27-29. Join your colleagues from across the A/E/C industry and joint engineer community for three days of education, training and networking opportunities. And as SAME's Annual Meeting, JETC offers numerous awards and recognition activities to celebrate the contributions and excellence of the Society's Posts and members in supporting the SAME mission "to lead collaborative efforts to identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related challenges”.
In addition to a robust education and training schedule, the 2020 JETC will feature special events, programs, and ceremonies to honor our 100th Anniversary and most importantly, to showcase the enduring contributions of our members, partners, and stakeholders to national security.
The Exhibit Hall will be the center of activity during the week. Exhibit booths will be complemented by historical enhancements, including engineering achievements over the past century, profiles of SAME’s named awards, and even historic vehicles to symbolize the era of 1920 in which we were formed.
The 2020 JETC will be highlighted with a special presentation of the Golden Eagle Awards, bringing the Academy of Fellows’ distinguished awards into the Society’s Centennial Celebration. Finally, a collection of supporting events and activities will be offered before and during JETC, including tours of area attractions.
