Recapping VJETC: An Elevated Experience!
Over 1,600 attendees enjoyed four days of education, training, and engagement during the 2021 Virtual JETC, May 17-21.
From keynote speakers to a joint warfighter seminar to 60-plus hours of education sessions to myriad networking activities, VJETC delivered a truly elevated experience! The week was highlighted by three inspiring keynotes: Shannon Polson, one of the Army's first Apache helicopter pilots; Adam Steltzner, Chief Engineer for the 2020 Mars Rover Mission; and Vernice "FlyGirl" Armour, America's first Black female combat pilot.
The Warfighter Seminar was designed to address current and future joint engineering challenges in this era of Great Power Competition, including the need to improve speed and agility of executing construction overseas, the constrains to providing infrastructure support as a result of malevolent actors in host nations, and the technology and logistics hurdles that need to be identified and overcome.
Additionally, Virtual JETC featured a Celebration of Achievements Networking Event recognizing SAME's awards and medals winner as well as the swearing-in of SAME's 102nd National President, Rear Adm. Mark Handley, F.SAME, USN (Ret.).
All Virtual JETC sessions are available for on-demand listening. If you registered, just head into the Virtual Event Platform and navigate to the Education & Activity portal.
