This pre-conference workshop at the SAME JETC Conference moves beyond generic AI discussions to show how agents can be applied across engineering, planning, business development, and marketing workflows. AI agents are task-focused AI tools designed to perform defined, repeatable work (such as synthesizing project information, supporting planning decisions, reviewing specifications, or preparing proposal and communication content) within clear boundaries and with human oversight. This pre-conference workshop is designed for leaders and professionals who want a practical, grounded understanding of how AI agents can support both delivery and decision-making.
The session blends strategic context with hands-on application. Participants will explore the three paradigms of AI to understand where agents fit, hear from a moderated panel of organizations already using agents in practice, and work through guided exercise to design activation-ready AI agents aligned to real workflows. The focus is on usable outcomes, clear guardrails, and responsible adoption.
No prior AI expertise is required. Attendees will leave with practical agent designs, a shared language for discussing AI across roles, and a clear path to putting these tools to work within their own organizational constraints. This session is a practical session. It is not a theoretical overview of artificial intelligence, a coding class, or a vendor sales presentation.
Presenters
- Pooja Jain, Founder & CEO, Innov8 Consulting LLC
- Additional presenters will be added as confirmed
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is ideal for:
- Senior leaders who want to understand where AI agents add value and how to guide responsible adoption.
- Engineers, planners, program managers, business development, and marketing professionals who want practical ways to put AI to work on real projects.
Why Should You Attend?
AI agents are moving quickly from experimentation to everyday use in project environments. This workshop helps you cut through the noise to understand where agents actually create value, how they are being used today, and how to apply them responsibly to real work. You’ll leave with practical agent designs, a shared language to use across teams, and the confidence to move from curiosity to informed action.
Learning Objectives
After completing the session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the three paradigms of AI—interactive, agentic, and ambient—and where AI agents apply in engineering and program environments.
- Identify appropriate use cases and limitations for AI agents across technical, planning, business development, and communication workflows.
- Design activation-ready AI agents by defining clear tasks, inputs, outputs, and human oversight.
- Evaluate practical approaches for adopting AI agents within organizational, security, and licensing constraints.
